Abstract

Latest scientific modernization and development in various spheres of life has strongly impacted the human life. One of the most important aspect of human life is its social bondage and linkage with other members of the society. As human nature is that it can not remain indifferent from his environment and surroundings; hence, to satisfy his such desire he has been adopting various means and techniques. Contemporary era of Mass Communication is considered the most advanced and fastest means of communication. While it offers many benefits and dividends for mankind; it also brings miseries, discomfort and chaos, if its usage is irrational and based on bad intentions As religion Islam is based on the system of truth and justice, we can harness the ill-effects of mass media through implementation of golden teachings and guidelines of the Holy Qura’an and the Sunnah. Media in accordance with Islamic teachings can play a constructive role in highlighting the genuine issues and problems of the society. At the same time it also discourages the bad practices like propaganda and yellow journalism. This article has been written with an aim to explain the prevailing social issues, their effects and remedial measures in the light of Islamic instructions.
