Terrorism in Modern Times and Its Solution in the Light of Seerat Nabvi (P.B.U.H)

Abstract

The brutal wave of terrorism in modern times has made the Muslim Ummah in general and Pakistan in particular notorious. Issues like unfair treatment of Muslims, double standards of super powers and long-term aggression to eliminate extremism in various countries are the fundamental causes of terrorism. Armed terrorist attack, mass shooting, suicide attacks on peaceful human populations, bombing on shrines, educational institutions, markets and government buildings around the world has become a daily routine.Islam is a religion of peace, security and love. According to its teachings, a Muslim is a man in whose hands the life and property of all human beings, Muslim or non-Muslim, is safe. Qisas and Diyat for Muslim and non-Muslim citizens were declared as equal by the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The non-Muslims citizens of a Muslim society, their ambassadors and their places of worship were given full protection. Thus, whatever excuses the rebels, the evil and the oppressors devise in order to justify their wrongdoings, they have nothing to do with Islamic teachings. It is important that the whole nation and the entire world should be made aware of the issue of terrorism and the stance of Islam regarding this matter should be made clear.This article covers the background of global terrorism, the causes of contemporary terrorism, and prohibition of suicide bombing and terrorist attacks on Muslims and non-Muslims in Islam. The solution to this problem is described in the light of  Seerat-e-Nabvi (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
