خواتین کے حقوق اور معاشرتی مساوات: سیرتِ النبی ﷺ کی روشنی میں
Abstract
Islam granted women the status and honor they had been deprived of before its arrival, and the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ presents a complete picture of this revolutionary transformation. The present paper offers a detailed analysis of women's rights and social equality in the light of the blessed life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In the pre-Islamic era, women were considered inferior in economic, social, and legal aspects. The Prophet ﷺ bestowed upon them fundamental rights such as marriage and divorce, inheritance, education, and the right to express opinion, thereby establishing the foundation of a just and equitable society. The paper highlights that the Prophet ﷺ demonstrated kindness, compassion, and respect toward women in his practical life. He honored his daughters, consulted his noble wives, and encouraged female companions to participate in scholarly, commercial, and social activities. This clearly shows that the Prophetic model represents a balanced and comprehensive social system. In the modern era, where women face numerous challenges such as domestic violence, lack of education, and economic exploitation the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ provides a guiding light. This study emphasizes that women’s rights can be effectively safeguarded in contemporary Muslim societies by adopting the principles found in the Prophetic tradition. Through this, the establishment of a just, dignified, and welfare-oriented society becomes possible.
