Abstract

Qura’n is the last ray of light in the dark for the human beings. It has been guiding man since the first day of revelation which will last till the Final Day. The word of the Holy Lord has not only been a challenge but it has been a repertoire of frequent new linguistic and semantic discoveries also.

One aspect of the sagacity of the Holy Qura’n is the concept of the Coherent and the Analogous, which has been a matter of great debate among the scholars since long. This research paper aims to narrate the popular opinions of the scholars and then to judge them in the light of the theory of Shah Waliullah.Scholars have defined the two terms in the light of the principles and requirements of their own fields. They have made classifications and groups, which help the reader in the comprehension of both the Coherent and the Analogous.Another objective in writing this paper is to throw light on these two terms which will bring into forth the exact stance of the major sect of scholars regarding the Coherent and the Analogous.
