Abstract

ABSTRACT

Al-Hidayah, written by Allama Ali ibn Abi Bakr al-Marghinani, is one of the famous books of Hanafi jurisprudence. First, he compiled a short book "Bidayaat ul-Mubtadi" keeping in view Imam Muhammad's book Al-Jami ul-Saghir and Imam Qadduri's Al-Mukhtasar. After that, he wrote a detailed book named "Kifayat-ul-Mubtadi", but this book was too long, due to which there was a fear that the readers might get tired. Due to the above-mentioned situation, he wrote a book as an abstract of Kifayat-ul-Mubtadi" and that was the book which is called Al-Hidayah. Fortunately, this book became so popular not only among Hanafi jurisprudence but also among scholars belonging to other schools of jurisprudence. However, there were some scholars who criticize on this book due to some reasons. In those critics, the most famous critic on Hidaya was Allama Ali Bin Ali Alias Ibn-e- abi il iz. When he studied the Hidaya, he expressed his opinion on the places which he found difficult and objectionable with the arguments. In this way, he prepared a huge collection of those objections, which he called "Al-Tanbih Ala Mushkalat Al-Hidaya". In the following lines, an attempt has been made to examine the same objections made by Ibn-e- Abi Al-iz. Besides the critically examining, in this article, the methodology of Ibn-e- Abil iz is also described with examples.
