Abstract
ABSTRACT
Human being is social by nature. Only a strong family system can make and save the fabric of human society. In fact Family is a building block of societal structure. For its significance Devine guidance has been given about it. It is necessary to explain and analyze the topic in the light of the teachings of Semitic religions i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In the following article concept and importance of family is highlighted and characteristics of Islamic family system has also been differentiated. It has also discussed the norms of prevailing family system of the followers of Semitic religions and causes of its deterioration. Lastly it has also emphasized the need to review family laws under the light of religion despite of secular standards being exercised in modern societies.
