Shah Waliullah's Theory of the Purposes of the Revelation of Prophethood In the Light of "Albodoor Ul Bazigah"
شاہ ولی اللہ کا نظریۂ مقاصدِ بعثتِ نبوت:" البدور البازغۃ" کی روشنی میں
Abstract
Allah Almighty set a guidance system by His Prophets. All the Prophets came to their nations and they guided them in all the aspects of life. Earlier scholars of Islam discussed about the system of prophet hood and its purpose in this world like Ghazali, Ibn-e-Arabi, Ibn-e-Khuldoon and Sheikh Sarhandi wrote on it. Shah Waliyullah has also written on Prophet hood system with more details, especially in his famous book ‘Albudoor-ul-Bazighah’. He indicated that prophets were sent to humans to guide them in both religious and social matters equally. He has derived this aspect from different verses of the Holy Quran and Hadith. According to his philosophy, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) came to abolish the luxurious and brutal system of Caesar of Roam and Cyrus of Persia. He was given the responsibility to establish a justice system, in which every member of the society should remain peaceful and satisfy. Contrary to the views of Shah Waliyullah, Ghazali and Ibn-e-Khuldoon have the view that Prophets came to guide only religious matters and we cannot prove prophet hood with logic. Quranic teachings are very clear about the comprehensive concept of Prophet hood and wider purpose of prophets in this world for the betterment of ethical, social, economic and political life of humans. This research article has been presented to analyze important features of Prophet hood philosophy of Shah Waliyullah.
